Lavenia Beverly B.A.

Academic Life Coach

Driven, passionate and dreamer are all words to describe Lavenia Beverly. Even as a child she knew she was born to be a helper. Serving others just came natural to her. In 2007 she was named Homecoming Queen of Hermitage High School. While in undergrad, she worked with inner city “at- risk” youth to find positive outlets using art and education.

After earning a Bachelor Degree from Old Dominion University in 2014, Lavenia worked with youth in foster care recovering from severe trauma. Then she decided to take a year off from work and school to serve as a member of AmeriCorps, ReadingCorps, where she volunteered over 1500 hours to help efforts to close the literacy gap in tri-cities Virginia schools. Lavenia has both personal and professional experience with youth and adults with various levels physical and mental abilities. She’s currently taking courses to earn a Master of School Counseling, expected in 2019.

With a passion for human services and education she has big dreams of serving today’s youth. Nurturing and fostering a sense of confidence, pride, and education. Lavenia’s personal mission is in line with CADC’s mission to bring all abilities to their fullest potential!
