CADC Teen Academy

Coming Summer 2019

The CADC Teen Academy hosts monthly workshops and classes to help prepare teens ages 13-18 for adulthood. Sessions include materials, hands-on practice, support tools and takeaways that will increase their levels of independence and help them live the life of their choice.

Topics Include but are not limited to:

Financing and Budgeting

  • Benefits of saving
  • The pros and cons of credit cards
  • Budgeting
  • Loans

Applying to College/University (It’s not too early and it’s not too late)

  • Life after high school (trade school, community college, universities)
  • In person vs. Online attendance
  • Selecting a college
  • Applying to college
  • College life
  • Keeping up with coursework

Career Pathways

  • Identifying potential careers
  • Searching for a job
  • Applying for a job (creating a resume, e-portfolio, filling out applications)
  • Interviewing
  • Job soft skills
  • Teamwork
