Individuals with IDD and mental health conditions often experience unique challenges in getting the support they need. This workshop covers how mental health symptoms may present differently and offers strategies for effective recognition and response. Participants will also learn how to collaborate with mental health providers and adapt support for improved outcomes.

Person-centered care empowers individuals with IDD and mental health needs to lead lives aligned with their goals and preferences. This session helps professionals move beyond basic planning to create meaningful, individualized supports. This workshop teaches professionals to interpret behavior, identify triggers, and use proactive communication and de-escalation strategies to build stronger relationships.
